Three types of smart locks

Three types of smart locks based on their locking and unlocking system:
Keypad locks - unlocked with a code
Wi-Fi or Bluetooth locks - unlocked through a smart app
Remote fob locks - unlocked automatically when they detect a wireless key fob (which you'll carry with you)
Keep in mind that some smart locks allow several different authentication methods.
